The BENNETT family lived in Winsham, Somerset (England) from at least the 1500s. Some were wine merchants and grocers in London until 1790 when James BENNETT bought the Manor of North Cadbury in Somerset. James was married to Mary CLUTTERBUCK of Cornwall. (Later the family built Sparkford Hall.)
They had the following children:

- Julia BENNETT married Charles MOODY
