Wyatt STANFORD (sometimes STANDFORD or even STAMFORD) was born in 1786 on the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. He was a bricklayer when he married Mary GOTOBED in 1804. They had the following children, all of whom were baptised in Holy Trinity Church in Ely: Mary, William, Rebecca, Edward, Susan, John, Elizabeth, Harriet, Jane and Sarah. In 1851 the family was living in Newnham Street, Ely.
Daughter Rebecca married Henry Cuttriss MILLS in London in 1834. They had children Rebecca , Henry, George, Jane, Elizabeth, Sarah, William, Harriet, Susan, Mary Ann. The parents, Rebecca and Henry, emigrated to Victoria, Australia, as did some of their children.
But before Rebecca and Henry came, their daughter, Rebecca, emigrated on the Herald of the Morning as a general servant, and went to live with her aunt Susan MILLS (nee STANFORD, also daughter of Wyatt) in Prahran, in Melbourne, Victoria. She married Thomas BOND in Melbourne.
